Spiked in Paris

When a tame catch up ended in getting spiked whilst out on my own, I end up becoming a main character in the music video I was meant to film.

It was the end of August, I had gone over to Paris to hang out with some of the boys and film Antoine’s music video. The plan was to film a friend dancing at the Eiffel Tower on Saturday morning, but on Friday evening I went out to catch up with an old friend, and there was a lot of catching up to do. After promising Antoine I’d be home for 11 PM, me and my friend decided to enter a club at that time instead.

By this point we were drunk but nothing too heavy. It was more just a fun night. By 3 AM my friend finally decided to bail, at which point I realised there was no point heading batch to Antoine’s. So I messaged to say I’d leave the club in half a hour and meet them at the Eiffel Tower just before sunrise.

That’s when it all goes black for me.

The guys were waiting for me, but I wasn’t responding. Then eventually I call Antoine, only for there to be a French guy on my phone. He had found me unconscious in a gutter and they had to come get me. I was so lucky I hadn’t been mugged.

Me in the gutter

When the guys arrived, so did the paramedics. After checking I wasn’t about to die whilst I was shouting merci beaucoup 100 times, they us on our way. Although I was still unconscious. So back to the Eiffel Tower, this time with baby sitters for me whilst Antoine filmed the dancing for a couple hours.

Me dead with the boys

We had a couple days left in Paris with different ideas flowing around. This ended up evolving into putting me in the music video, and idea of me being some messed up drunk obsessed with the dancer. Which really lead to this money shot on the bike in front of the Eiffel Tower. One of the guys in the boot of the car filming, me pretending to be drunk cycling around, and the police literally pulling up next to us and not giving a shit. Vive la France.

In the end, Antoine got his music video. Just not what he was originally planning.
